Repairs

Hardware - Products under warranty. Generally, these items are covered for parts & labour.

These fall into 2 categories; Products under the standard 12 month Apple warranty and Products that have had an extended warranty (AppleCare Protection Plan) purchased for additional coverage.
Additionally, some peripheral products such as external hard drives will be eligible for repair or replacement under warranty. PLEASE NOTE: These warranties do not cover Software Issues, Accidental Damage or "No fault found" - nor do they cover freight costs for goods that need to be returned to the manufacturer for repair or exchange.

If you are bringing in an item covered by an AppleCare Protection Plan, please ensure the item in question has been registered in the “Support” area of Apple’s website. If items have not been registered, the repair process is usually delayed by 5-7 working days whilst registration takes place restrospectively.

Hardware - Products out of warranty.

Depending on the age of the product, these items can often be satisfactorily repaired. Please bear in mind that Apple products generally go "Vintage" between 5 - 7 years after ceasing manufacture, This usually means spare parts are either in very short supply or have already been depleted. If you bring in an out of warranty product, we can quote you an accurate cost of repair for a flat fee (rates) which will then become part of the repair cost if you proceed with the repair.

Software

We can troubleshoot virtually all software issues on your Mac - from Operating System to Applications. Additionally, we have a range of diagnostic software that can often scan & repair minor issues with such things as Hard-Drive errors. Please be sure to supply original copies and appropriate Serial No. of any software that needs to be reinstalled.

General Maintenance

Macs are pretty low-maintenance machines, but like all devices, they will always benefit from some ongoing care & attention. If you are a new or novice user who is unsure of what you should be doing, or are in a situation where you don't have an Internet connection or enough bandwidth and are unable to perform Software Updates, we are more than happy to assist. At the same time, we can check out your hardware, ensure the Hard Disk is performing as it should and Repair Permissions. If we have your machine for maintenance we can also suggest Operating System or Application Upgrades you may wish to consider or offer advice on other upgrades that may be appropriate - such as more RAM memory or a bigger hard-Drive. Upgrades

As described above in General maintenance, we will be more than happy to offer advice and pricing on upgrades that are appropriate to your Mac and your general requirements - both Hardware and Software upgrades can be performed - and if we need any items in order to do the upgrades required, we can get them ordered and shipped from Power On Retail on your behalf.

Quotations

Whether it's some Hardware & Software for an upgrade, or an involved take-apart and report for an Insurance Company, we are always able to provide you with a quotation for the cost of the repair.
